Job Description

Make a real impact as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter by supporting a student in a self-contained classroom environment. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work with a 6th or 7th grade student, providing essential communication access and fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.

You can choose between a full-time schedule of 32.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday) or a part-time role of 16 hours per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays only), allowing for flexibility that fits your needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3.5 EIPA score
  • Valid state interpreter license through GaPSC
  • Experience working in educational settings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting best practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to student growth

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and clear sign language interpretation for a single middle school student in a classroom setting
  • Facilitate communication between student, teachers, and peers
  • Support the academic and social needs of the student, adapting interpreting style as appropriate
  • Collaborate with classroom staff and school teams to ensure an inclusive and engaging environment
