Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a contract Sign Language Interpreter within a supportive school environment near Alpharetta, GA. You'll be working directly with one student (1:1 SLI, onsite only) throughout the academic year, supporting their communication needs and enhancing their educational experience.

This full-time role is set to begin August 3rd, 2026, and will continue through May 27th, 2027, following the academic calendar. Youll collaborate closely with teachers and staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Georgia Department of Education Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License is required. Please note: HR waivers are not accepted for this position.
  • Previous experience in educational settings, preferably supporting students one-on-one.
  • Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Ability to work onsite and commit to a full-time schedule throughout the contract period.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt interpreting styles to meet individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct interpreting services between spoken English and ASL for a single student, ensuring effective and accurate communication in all classroom activities.
  • Support the student in academic, extracurricular, and social settings within the school.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of interpreting within educational institutions.
  • Collaborate with educators and school staff to adapt materials and resources as necessary.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and participation to appropriate school personnel.
