Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity providing support as a School Art Therapist on a part-time contract basis. Youll be working with a small, diverse caseload of students in an educational setting, making a real difference through therapeutic recreation and creative interventions during the upcoming school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification from the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification, the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation, or the National Recreation and Park Association (recreation or therapeutic recreation services)
  • Experience providing therapy, ideally within a school setting, utilizing art or recreation-focused interventions
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple students and sites
  • Ability to participate in IEP processes, including performing annual assessments and attending meetings
  • Open to virtual/VOCO arrangements for skill marketing

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver creative and therapeutic sessions to 4 students weekly, with individual service times as follows:
    • One student for a 45-minute session
    • Two students for 30-minute sessions each
    • One student for an extended 85-minute session
  • Maintain accurate session records and progress notes
  • Complete detailed assessments and contribute to annual IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with educational staff and families to best support students growth and success
  • Adapt approaches to meet diverse needs and encourage student engagement across multiple school sites
