This part-time contract opportunity allows for professional creativity and meaningful, individualized support, with a schedule perfect for those seeking flexibility. Engage with a small, focused caseload and collaborate with dedicated teams from August 12, 2026 through June 4, 2027.
Ideal candidates will bring both their passion for therapeutic recreation and the credentials to match. Youll have the opportunity to deliver specialized support through a hybrid of direct and consultative services, helping students thrive across multiple school sites.
Qualifications:
- Possession of one of the following:
Certificate from the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification
Certificate from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation
Certification from the National Recreation and Park Association (authorizing recreation or therapeutic recreation services) - Experience working in school-based or pediatric therapy preferred
- Capacity for independent scheduling and documentation
- Strong communication skills for collaboration and attending IEP meetings
Responsibilities:
- Deliver weekly individualized sessions, ranging from 30 to 85 minutes, to four students at various school locations
- Carry out assessments in accordance with student needs and district protocols
- Attend annual IEP meetings and collaborate with school staff and families
- Support students personal, social, and emotional growth through art and recreation-based interventions
- Maintain timely and thorough documentation of services
