Job Description

Make a significant impact on student well-being and growth by providing school-based therapeutic recreation services in a dynamic educational environment near Santa Clarita, CA! This contract role is perfect for a skilled therapist looking for meaningful part-time work during the 2026-2027 school year.

Assignment details:

  • Contract duration: August 12, 2026 through June 4, 2027
  • Part-time schedule: 510 hours per week
  • Work with a small caseload of 4 students across different school sites
  • Deliver individual sessions and support student progress

Qualifications needed:

  • Hold one of the following:
    Current certificate from the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification
    Certificate from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation
    Certification from the National Recreation and Park Association, with credentials in recreation or therapeutic recreation
  • Experience working with school-aged children or in an educational setting is highly valued
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration and documentation
  • Ability to attend and contribute to annual IEP meetings, as well as complete required assessments

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapeutic and recreational interventions in alignment with each students IEP
  • Deliver sessions including 45-minute, 30-minute, and 85-minute weekly appointments based on student needs
  • Conduct assessments and write detailed reports
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and support overall student goals
