Required Qualifications:

  • Possess one of the following:
    • Certificate from the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification
    • Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation
    • Certification from the National Recreation and Park Association, authorizing services in recreation or therapeutic recreation
  • Background in school settings and experience as an Art Therapist or School Therapist highly preferred
  • Comfortable providing services to diverse students across multiple school sites
  • Adept at performing student assessments and collaborating at IEP meetings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapeutic services to four students, with sessions ranging from 30 to 85 minutes weekly, tailored to individual needs
  • Complete comprehensive annual assessments for each student assigned
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, working collaboratively with other education professionals and families
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records
  • Support a nurturing and creative environment that fosters student growth
