Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students emotional and social growth in a vibrant educational setting near San Mateo, CA. Youll be the dedicated mental health professional at an elementary school, providing both individualized support to around 15 students and facilitating group activities like lunch bunches to help develop essential social-emotional learning (SEL) skills throughout the school community. Key Qualifications & Certifications:
- Licensed School Counselor, LMFT/AMFT, LCSW with PPS, ACSW with PPS, or other relevant certifications for delivering school-based mental health services to students.
- Experience working in schools as a therapist, counselor, marriage and family therapist, or social worker, with a strong understanding of childrens social and emotional needs.
- Ability to develop and lead SEL groups and provide informal student support.
- Skilled communicator, comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Role Highlights:
- Serve as the primary mental health provider at one elementary school.
- Manage a caseload of students requiring individual support, while also creating opportunities for broader student engagement in social and emotional learning.
- Work closely with school staff to identify student needs and provide appropriate interventions.
- Participate in a flexible schedule of 32.5+ hours per week, with the potential for additional hours.
This position begins in the coming school year (08/05/26) and will follow the full school year calendar (FSY). Interviews are held remotely in a panel or casual format to accommodate your schedule, and no additional onboarding or training requirements are needed.
