Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Recreational Therapist, where your expertise will help support students' growth throughout the academic year. Located near North Hollywood, CA, this part-time assignment (approximately 5-10 hours weekly) runs from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027.

Your role will focus on delivering targeted therapy to a diverse caseload of four students across different school sites, providing individualized sessions (ranging from 30 to 85 minutes per student each week). In addition, youll perform essential assessments and actively participate in annual IEP meetings, ensuring each student receives a carefully tailored approach to therapeutic recreation.

To qualify, candidates must hold one of the following credentials:

• A certificate awarded by the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification
• Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation
• A certification from the National Recreation and Park Association, authorizing services in recreation or therapeutic recreation

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting individual therapeutic recreation sessions in accordance with student IEPs
• Evaluating and documenting progress, updating intervention plans as needed
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families for comprehensive support
• Administering thorough recreational therapy assessments
• Representing recreational therapy services at annual IEP meetings
