Job Description

Bring your expertise as a School Therapist and Art Therapist to an engaging part-time contract supporting students in a creative, growth-oriented educational environment. This unique opportunity allows professionals with specialized certification in recreation or therapeutic recreation to make a direct impact during the 2026 2027 school year.

As a valued member of the support team, youll work with a small caseload of four students across several school sites, delivering both individual therapy sessions and integral assessment services. The schedule is flexible, with approximately 510 hours per week, making this a perfect position for those seeking to influence student growth while maintaining a work-life balance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must hold at least one of the following: Certificate from the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification Certificate from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification from the National Recreation and Park Association, authorizing work in recreation/therapeutic recreation
  • Experience delivering art therapy or school-based therapeutic interventions
  • Understanding of IEP processes and experience attending IEP meetings
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple school sites and communicate effectively with staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored therapy sessions: UO (45 minutes/week), LR (30 minutes/week), GV (30 minutes/week), and MC (85 minutes/week)
  • Conduct student assessments and contribute to IEP meetings annually
  • Customize intervention strategies to individual needs, fostering student well-being and growth
  • Serve as a collaborative resource for teachers and school staff

Start date is August 12, 2026, ending June 4, 2027, with all sessions scheduled during the school calendar.
