Job Description

Make an impact by fostering creativity and growth for students through music therapy in a dynamic campus setting. This part-time, contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled, certified Music Therapist seeking flexibility and the chance to support individual student achievement while collaborating with educators and families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide individual and group music therapy services for students across multiple campuses, with flexibility in setting your weekly schedule
  • Evaluate, assess, and document student progress towards IEP goals, ensuring compliance with educational guidelines
  • Participate in ARD Committee meetings, offering insights into assessment data and helping set appropriate goals and placements
  • Consult with staff and parents, supplying training and ongoing support to teachers and families regarding the benefits of music therapy
  • Design and adapt therapy strategies, tools, and materials to meet diverse student needs (note: music equipment is not provided)
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
  • Cultivate an environment tailored to students developmental levels and disciplinary guidelines, fostering engagement and learning
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to refine skills and stay current in best practices
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by supervisors, supporting the overall success of the music therapy program

Desired Qualifications:

  • National Certification in Music Therapy (required)
  • Experience with IEP processes, particularly for students with autism and developmental disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of music therapy protocols, assessment, and adaptive materials
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to travel to multiple campuses within the district
  • Fingerprint clearance or willingness to complete district background/fingerprinting
