Make a meaningful impact by providing essential mental health and wellness support to elementary students in a rewarding contract role at a well-regarded local school. This opportunity, beginning 08/05/26, is perfect for compassionate professionals eager to guide students through social-emotional growth both individually and in group settings.
Youll work with approximately 15 students receiving individualized support, plus facilitate broader social groups such as lunch bunches to foster critical social-emotional learning (SEL) skills for others. The position offers a full-time schedule of at least 32.5 hours per weekpotentially morewithin a supportive educational environment.
Your expertise will ensure students thrive academically and emotionally:
Desired Qualifications:
- Credentials as a School Counselor, LMFT/AMFT, LCSW with PPS, ACSW with PPS, or other relevant mental health certification for California schools.
- Experience providing counseling, therapy, or social work services to school-aged children.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to conduct both one-on-one and group sessions.
- Passion for helping students build SEL skills and achieve personal growth.
- Comfort working collaboratively with school staff and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized mental health support to students.
- Lead group activities and social groups designed to build SEL competencies.
- Offer informal counseling and guidance to a diverse elementary population.
- Document interventions and consultations in a timely manner.
- Participate in school meetings and collaborate on strategies for student wellbeing.
