A school psychologist position is available at a middle college program located in Ypsilanti, MI, specializing in evaluation-heavy caseloads, primarily supporting students in transition programs. This contract role requires onsite presence and offers approximately 10 hours per week during the Extended School Year (ESY).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations focused on transition-age students
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop appropriate interventions and support plans
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide expert recommendations
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district policies and state regulations
- Support the social-emotional and behavioral needs of students through direct intervention and consultation
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Michigan School Psychologist credential required
- Proven experience working with diverse student populations, particularly those in transition programs
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, assessment tools, and best practices in school psychology
- Ability to work on site for scheduled hours with flexibility in interview availability
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to effectively engage with students, families, and school staff
