Job Description

A full-time School Psychologist position is available in Yelm, WA, providing specialized support to students within a local correctional facility. This role requires a dedicated professional skilled in working with incarcerated youth and capable of managing sensitive cases in a secure environment. The position involves conducting comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and re-evaluations while collaborating closely with the IEP support team to develop and implement appropriate educational plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer psychological assessments and evaluations to students in a correctional setting.
  • Collaborate with educators, counselors, and support staff to create and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide counseling and interventions focused on the unique needs of incarcerated youth.
  • Maintain detailed, confidential records and ensure compliance with district and legal guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate effectively with facility staff and families as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid School Psychologist License in Washington State.
  • Experience or willingness to work with incarcerated youth in a correctional facility setting.
  • Ability to pass a stringent background check required for facility access.
  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with a thorough understanding of IEP processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills tailored to a multidisciplinary environment.

Location: Onsite at a correctional facility in Yelm, WA
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
