Step into a rewarding opportunity as a dedicated professional supporting student success in the Washington, DC metro area. This full-time, on-site position offers the chance to work closely with two dynamic school communities just 45 minutes south of the city. Youll help foster positive learning environments by providing essential psychological services throughout the academic year, from August 11, 2026, to May 26, 2027.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid Virginia Department of Education Certificate and active Virginia School Psychologist license
- Experience in school-based assessment, behavioral consultation, and supporting Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
- Comfortable collaborating with other professionals and supporting students across K-12 settings
- Willingness to complete time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including VA Department of Social Services check and TB test
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and collaborate in Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Serve as a resource for staff consultations and provide guidance on best practices
- Occasionally support social workers with counseling as caseload requires
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, utilizing collected data to inform student support strategies
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Work independently across two assigned school sites, serving students from 8:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m., 37.5 hours per week
