This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference as a school psychologist in a dynamic educational setting for the 2026-2027 school year. Working closely with a diverse student population, youll provide critical psychological services spanning a variety of ages and needs. The assignment begins August 31, 2026, and continues through June 15, 2027, with a standard Monday through Friday schedule totaling 35 hours per week.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Current Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) licensure
- Active psychology license in the state of Virginia
- Previous school-based or child/adolescent psychology experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, assessment, and problem-solving abilities
- A passion for supporting students, staff, and families within a collaborative school environment
- Flexibility and adaptability for a caseload and school assignment that may evolve
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations
- Consultations with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student needs
- Collaborating on the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies
- Providing direct and indirect support to students to promote academic, emotional, and social growth
- Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to ethical and professional standards
