Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic educational environment near the Washington, DC area. This position focuses on assessment and consultation in two school settings, just 45 minutes south of DC. Youll have the chance to make a profound impact on student wellbeing from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with a steady schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold an active Virginia Department of Education certification
- Active Virginia Psychology Licensure required
- Passion for assessment, consultation, and supporting behavioral interventions (FBA/BIP)
- Prior experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Ability to navigate school-based systems and collaborate across teams
- Commitment to timely credentialing and onboarding requirements, including starting the VA Dept. of Social Services background check right away and completing the TB test
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments for students
- Deliver consultation services for multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) as needed
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and support staff to promote students growth and emotional wellbeing
- Provide support for Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Occasionally support school counselors and social workers with student counseling (minimal direct counseling expected)
- Partner closely with educational diagnosticians who handle all academic achievement testing
