Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity impacting the lives of K-12 students by providing school psychology services in a dynamic educational setting near Theodore, AL. On-site candidates are invited for interviews on 4/15/2026. Two positions are available for passionate professionals: one serving a local elementary campus, and another as an itinerant psychometrist across a cluster of private schools (list to be confirmed).

This role offers significant variety and the chance to support students across a range of ages and needs. With 37.5 hours per week anticipated, you'll address social, emotional, and academic concerns, providing expert consultation and psychoeducational assessments throughout the academic year, including a strong likelihood of renewal for extended school year (ESY) and next school year (NSY), based on performance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active and current Alabama school psychologist license (documentation required upon interviewing)
  • Experience providing psychological services to K-12 students
  • Strong assessment, intervention, and counseling skills
  • Flexible mindset to support multiple campuses, including travel for itinerant position
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities
  • Capable of maintaining detailed records and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group assessments to determine students cognitive, social, and emotional needs
  • Provide recommendations for interventions and educational planning
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to promote student wellbeing
  • Deliver direct support and crisis intervention as needed
  • Maintain thorough, timely documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support planning
