Job Description

A school psychologist position is available to provide essential psychological services within an educational setting, with an emphasis on early childhood programs such as Head Start (pre-K), as well as K-12 education. This role involves working onsite in locations near Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit, Michigan, supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating on early identification and intervention strategies for academic, social, and emotional difficulties
  • Conducting thorough psychological assessments evaluating cognitive, academic, adaptive, and social-emotional domains
  • Determining eligibility for special education services based on assessment outcomes
  • Partnering with educators and support staff to ensure coherent implementation of special education policies
  • Communicating assessment findings clearly to parents, teachers, and administrators to support effective student planning
  • Engaging in professional development to maintain compliance with current best practices and regulations
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and experience desired:

  • Michigan School Psychologist certification or Preliminary School Psychologist certification
  • Official university transcripts must be submitted prior to district presentation
  • Previous experience in school psychology or related agency settings preferred
  • Ability to manage an approximate caseload of 60 students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Position details:

  • Contract role starting ASAP with an end date of 6/12/26, with potential extensions including ESY and the 2026-2027 school year
  • Full-time schedule, approximately 35 hours per week
  • Onsite work location with telehealth experience considered a plus
