Job Description

A school district in Stamford, Connecticut is seeking a qualified Bilingual School Psychologist for a fulltime, schoolbased contract. This position serves K12 students and focuses on assessment, intervention, and collaboration to support academic achievement and socialemotional development. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish and has experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments in English and Spanish, as appropriate
  • Interpret assessment results and prepare clear, compliant written evaluation reports
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility determinations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student learning, behavior, and mental health needs
  • Support the development and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Provide culturally responsive recommendations and interventions for diverse student populations
  • Assist with MTSS, early intervention, and schoolbased mental health initiatives
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Support a safe, inclusive, and studentcentered learning environment

Qualifications

  • Active Connecticut School Psychologist certification required (070)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Ability to conduct assessments and communicate effectively in both languages
  • Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
  • Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates

Education

  • Masters degree, Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), or higher in School Psychology or a related field

Experience

  • Prior schoolbased experience preferred
  • Experience working with bilingual or multilingual student populations strongly preferred
  • Experience conducting bilingual evaluations preferred
  • New graduates with appropriate credentials and internship experience are encouraged to apply

  • Strong assessment, data interpretation, and reportwriting skills
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Work Hours

  • MondayFriday
  • 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
  • Approximately 3740 hours per week
