Ideal qualifications and experience:
- Valid certification or license as a School Psychologist in Michigan
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of child development, assessment tools, and intervention strategies
- Ability to provide counseling, crisis intervention, and consultative services
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Skilled in maintaining accurate documentation and upholding confidentiality standards
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and interpret results to determine student eligibility for services
- Develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Participate in student support and problem-solving teams
- Consult with teachers and parents regarding academic, behavioral, and emotional concerns
- Offer direct counseling to students individually and in small groups
- Contribute to the design of positive behavioral support initiatives
