Job Description
A school psychologist opportunity is available within a Kansas school district for the 2026-2027 school year, from August 12, 2026, to May 21, 2027. This contract position supports K-12 students, specializing in testing and assessment for students with complex disabilities, including those who are non-verbal, physically impaired, or use assistive technology devices for communication.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments for students with intense disabilities.
- Working directly with students who have varied and complex communication needs.
- Traveling between multiple school locations within the district to provide services.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support student educational planning.
- Maintaining detailed documentation and reporting results of assessments.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Certification and experience as a licensed school psychologist.
- Expertise in assessment techniques for students with severe disabilities and alternative communication methods.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and flexibility to travel among several sites.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with educators, families, and support staff.
- Knowledge of K-12 special education laws and regulations.
