As a School Psychologist, you will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team, focusing primarily on discipline requests while providing comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and intervention recommendations. What you'll bring:
- Valid NASP certification or LSSP from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners and Psychologists
- Experience with psychoeducational evaluations and a solid understanding of IDEA compliance
- Skilled at interpreting assessment data and drafting detailed evaluation reports
- In-depth knowledge of special education eligibility criteria and multidisciplinary processes
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information to families, educators, and school teams
- Proven organization and time-management abilities to ensure compliance with strict evaluation timelines
- Experience collaborating with educational diagnosticians, social workers, speech-language pathologists, and administrators
- Bilingual candidates are highly valued!
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Conduct educational assessments to identify student needs and submit timely written reports
- Provide referral information and direct services to students and families
- Partner with school staff to implement effective intervention strategies
- Serve as a consistent resource for teachers, families, and administrators concerning educational and behavioral interventions
- Maintain case records and essential documentation for continuity and accountability
- Participate in in-service training for staff and parents, promoting best practices
- Select, administer, and interpret assessment instruments and deliver results within established timelines
- Collaborate in planning individualized education programs based on assessment findings
District background check and tech screening are required for credentialing.
