Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students mental health and academic success as a contracted School Psychologist serving the area near Portland, TX. In this dynamic role, youll collaborate closely with educators, families, and administrators to promote a healthy, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Expertise:

  • Masters or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Valid and current School Psychologist credential/certification (LSSP or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within K-12 educational settings preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of assessments, behavioral interventions, IEP/504 plan development, and RTI/MTSS processes
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and consultation skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cognitive, behavioral, and academic evaluations to determine students' needs and eligibility for special education services
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education and intervention plans
  • Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and support to students as needed
  • Serve as an active member of multidisciplinary teams, collaborating in student intervention, placement decisions, and progress reviews
  • Offer consultation to teachers, staff, and families on academic, behavioral, and mental health supports
  • Educate and empower the school community on topics such as emotional wellness, mental health, and inclusive practices
  • Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations
