A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed School Psychologist to support the educational and emotional well-being of students in a school setting located in Port Saint Lucie, FL. This contract position offers the chance to work closely with educators, parents, and administrators to assess and address students' learning and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to identify students cognitive, emotional, and academic strengths and challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide counseling and intervention services to help students overcome behavioral and emotional difficulties
- Support crisis intervention and facilitate referrals to community resources as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute professional insights to student support strategies
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to professional and ethical standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Florida Department of Health (DOH) License as a School Psychologist required
- Masters or doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
- Experience conducting psycho-educational assessments and developing IEPs in an educational environment
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with educational laws and regulations related to special education
