Qualifications & Background Needed:
- Master's or specialist-level degree in School Psychology or related field
- Current and valid School Psychologist license or certification (or eligibility for Alaska credential)
- Experience with psychoeducational evaluations and behavioral assessments
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and eligibility determinations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration
- Commitment to ethical practice and student confidentiality
- Ability to adapt strategies to diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational assessments
- Develop and interpret IEPs in multidisciplinary meetings
- Provide recommendations for academic and behavioral interventions
- Counsel students individually and in small groups, addressing emotional or social difficulties
- Consult with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success
- Maintain detailed, accurate documentation and reports
- Participate actively in crisis intervention and prevention programs
