A school district in Okatie, SC, is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to support the mental health and educational success of its student population. This contract position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative environment focused on promoting positive developmental outcomes for students through psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans.
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to support students social-emotional well-being.
- Offer consultation and training to school staff on student mental health and behavioral strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with applicable laws and district policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute professional expertise.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and providing intervention services within a school setting.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
