Seeking a dedicated professional eager to make a significant impact within a supportive educational environment. This full-time, on-site contract opportunity is ideal for a licensed School Psychologist passionate about supporting students across various age groups. The role will be based in a vibrant school district near Norfolk, VA, and requires a commitment from late August through mid-June.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for students.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to determine eligibility for special education services.
- Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement intervention strategies.
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and district guidelines.
- Serve as a valued resource for crisis intervention and behavioral assessments.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
Qualifications:
- Active licensure with the Virginia Department of Education.
- Valid certification as a School Psychologist in Virginia.
- Strong collaboration skills and a commitment to working on-site (no virtual or hybrid options).
- Prior experience in school-based settings is highly regarded.
- Exceptional assessment, counseling, and communication skills.
This contract role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 35 hours per week, with the number of schools and specific caseload details to be determined. Flexibility may be possible within the school site structure.
