Job Description

Seeking a skilled School Psychologist with experience in elementary and high school settings for a contract position located in Newark, NJ. This role offers the opportunity to support the academic and emotional development of students across diverse age groups within a dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate student needs and learning challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide counseling and support services to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to plan and implement intervention strategies
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with school policies and state regulations
  • Assist in crisis intervention and develop preventative programs promoting positive school climate

Qualifications:

  • Valid school psychologist certification or licensure in the state of New Jersey
  • Experience working with elementary and high school students
  • Strong knowledge of educational laws, assessment tools, and therapeutic techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage caseloads effectively and prioritize tasks in a contract-based setting
