A School Psychologist opportunity is available in Mentor, OH, offering a contract position in an educational setting. This role focuses on supporting the mental health and educational development of students through assessment, consultation, and intervention services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological evaluations to assess students cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral strategies
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and plan appropriate interventions
- Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports on assessments and recommendations
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in school psychology
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
- Valid state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience conducting psychological assessments and delivering interventions in a school environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and staff
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to special education and student services
- Ability to manage caseload independently and work within a contractual framework
