Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree or equivalent in School Psychology
- Current approval as a School Psychologist by the Michigan Department of Education
- Solid understanding of special education law, assessment tools, and eligibility requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple evaluations and documentation tasks efficiently
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and special education evaluations for students in preschool to 4th grade (with flexibility to specialize in grades 14 as needed)
- Interpret evaluation results, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to interdisciplinary teams
- Develop targeted recommendations to support students educational progress and social-emotional growth
- Participate in planning and eligibility meetings, ensuring compliance with state requirements and timelines
- Collaborate closely with teachers, school support staff, and families to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
