Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification/licensure (or eligibility for Alaska credentials)
- Masters or Specialist degree in School Psychology or a related discipline
- Comprehensive understanding of special education procedures, assessments, and interventions
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting results
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and state/federal regulations related to student services
- Excellent consultation and collaboration skills with educators, parents, and other professionals
- Genuine passion for fostering student growth, resilience, and social-emotional well-being
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges impacting students
- Collaborate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs and intervention plans
- Serve as a resource for students, families, and staff regarding mental health and academic supports
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to inform educational decision-making
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and skill-building sessions as needed
- Offer training and guidance for school personnel on strategies to enhance classroom climate and student engagement
- Advocate for evidence-based practices while promoting an inclusive and nurturing school setting
