Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid School Psychologist certification/licensure (or eligibility for Alaska credentials)
  • Masters or Specialist degree in School Psychology or a related discipline
  • Comprehensive understanding of special education procedures, assessments, and interventions
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting results
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes and state/federal regulations related to student services
  • Excellent consultation and collaboration skills with educators, parents, and other professionals
  • Genuine passion for fostering student growth, resilience, and social-emotional well-being

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges impacting students
  • Collaborate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs and intervention plans
  • Serve as a resource for students, families, and staff regarding mental health and academic supports
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to inform educational decision-making
  • Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and skill-building sessions as needed
  • Offer training and guidance for school personnel on strategies to enhance classroom climate and student engagement
  • Advocate for evidence-based practices while promoting an inclusive and nurturing school setting
