Job Description

Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting students' success as a School Psychologist within a vibrant Chattanooga-area district. As a crucial member of the educational team, you'll collaborate closely with educators, parents, and support staff to deliver comprehensive psychological services to students. This position offers full-time hours (35 per week) for the 2026-2027 academic year, running from August 5, 2026, through May 19, 2027. Multiple assignments are available, with exact caseload and age group details to follow as the district finalizes student numbers for the upcoming year.

Key qualifications:

  • Current and active DOE certification is required
  • Experience in school settings is preferred
  • Ability to adapt to varied caseloads and work across multiple schools as needed
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families
  • Completion of fingerprint background check prior to start date
  • District may consider a 4/1 hybrid schedule (four days onsite, one remote) for candidates with valid justification and applicable qualifications

Primary responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and interpret results for individualized education planning
  • Support the development and implementation of interventions to enhance student academic and social-emotional outcomes
  • Provide consultation and training to teachers, parents, and staff on student behavior and learning issues
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary teams, including IEP meetings and crisis response
  • Maintain detailed, timely, and confidential records in compliance with state and federal requirements
