Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students in a dynamic educational environment as a School Psychologist for the upcoming academic year. This full-time contract role is conveniently located near the Washington DC area, a short drive from the heart of the nations capital. Youll be assigned to two schools, working on-site (no remote/VOCO or hybrid options) during traditional school hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Your expertise will focus on assessment, consultation, functional behavioral assessments (FBA), and behavior intervention plan (BIP) support. On occasion, you may consult with social workers on counseling-related matters, though your primary responsibilities will not include direct counseling or academic achievement testing, thanks to the presence of Educational Diagnosticians in every building. Your skills will also contribute to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) initiatives, helping foster a positive learning environment for students of various ages.

Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Department of Education Certification
  • Valid Virginia Psychologist Licensure
  • Experience in assessment, consultation, and FBA/BIP support preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and related service providers
  • Willingness to begin the required Virginia Department of Social Services background check immediately
  • Ability to provide TB test documentation per state guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and consult with school teams and families
  • Develop and support behavior intervention plans
  • Participate in MTSS and other support initiatives as needed
  • Collaborate with educational staff, including social workers and Ed Diags
