Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Masters or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology or a related field
- Proven experience conducting assessments and creating comprehensive reports
- Ability to provide individual and group counseling to students
- Strong knowledge of Special Education laws (IDEA, Section 504, etc.)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, parents, and outside agencies
- Commitment to culturally sensitive practice and student advocacy
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and assessments to identify students strengths and needs
- Develop and recommend interventions and behavioral supports to teachers and administrators
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, providing expertise on eligibility and placement decisions
- Offer short-term counseling and crisis intervention services
- Work closely with families to provide consultation and build positive partnerships
- Maintain thorough documentation while upholding ethical and legal standards of practice
