A reputable school district in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a School Psychologist on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a skilled individual passionate about supporting students' psychological well-being and academic success within a school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with educators, parents, and other professionals.
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and recommend support strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state regulations and school policies.
- Support initiatives aimed at promoting positive school climate and student mental health awareness.
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Department of Health (DOH) License is required.
- Masters or Doctorate degree in School Psychology or a closely related field.
- Experience conducting psychological evaluations and creating intervention plans in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state educational regulations related to special education.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple cases while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards.
