Job Description

A school district in Concord, NC is seeking a dedicated and skilled School Psychologist to support the mental health and academic success of students. This contract position offers an opportunity to apply psychological principles in an educational setting, providing assessments, counseling, and consultation services that enhance student well-being and learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students to identify learning disabilities, emotional concerns, and developmental issues
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide counseling and intervention services to students facing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges
  • Assist in crisis response and prevention initiatives within the school community
  • Utilize data and research to inform evidence-based strategies that support positive student behavior and achievement

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid School Psychologist certification or licensure appropriate for the state of North Carolina
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and interpreting results
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families
  • Knowledge of federal and state education regulations, including IDEA and Section 504
