Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated, virtual, Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) for a school-based opportunity in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled literacy professional passionate about helping students overcome reading and language challenges through structured, evidence-based intervention.

Position Highlights

• Provide individualized and small-group literacy intervention for students with reading and language-based learning difficulties

• Deliver structured, multisensory instruction targeting phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, fluency, and reading comprehension

• Support students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences

• Assess student literacy skills and use progress-monitoring data to guide instruction

• Develop and adjust intervention plans based on student strengths and areas of need

• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, families, and other school professionals

• Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention outcomes

• Foster a supportive learning environment that builds students' literacy skills and confidence

Qualifications

• Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) credential required

• Experience providing structured literacy intervention preferred

• Knowledge of dyslexia and language-based learning differences

• Familiarity with multisensory, evidence-based reading instruction

• Strong assessment, communication, and progress-monitoring skills

• Ability to collaborate with school staff and families to support student success
