Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Connecticut Educator Certification in School Psychology
- Thorough understanding of psychological assessments, reports, and best practices
- Strong communication skills for consulting with staff, families, and community members
- Proficiency in developing effective intervention strategies and providing crisis support
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
- Experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group assessments to determine students needs and strengths
- Provide direct counseling to students, including social, emotional, and behavioral support
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans
- Offer consultation and training to staff regarding effective interventions and mental health awareness
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute valuable insights
- Respond effectively to crisis situations and support a positive school climate
