Job Description

Ideal background and skills:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
  • Valid state certification or eligibility as a School Psychologist
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention and counseling to students of varied backgrounds
  • Strong communication and consultation abilities with educators, families, and outside agencies
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical practice in all professional duties
  • Previous experience in school-based settings preferred

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Administer comprehensive psychological and educational assessments
  • Interpret evaluation results and communicate recommendations to educators and families
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students requiring special education services
  • Provide individual and group counseling as needed
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students academic and emotional needs
  • Assist with behavioral interventions and strategies to promote positive classroom environments
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide professional guidance on mental health matters
