Key Qualifications:

  • Active and valid School Psychologist certification/licensure for AK (or eligibility)
  • Masters or higher degree in School Psychology or a closely related field
  • Familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support and special education processes
  • Ability to communicate complex psychological concepts simply to students, staff, and families
  • Experience with academic and behavioral interventions, crisis response, and counseling
  • Strong collaboration and consultation skills in diverse educational environments

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to identify student needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers regarding interventions and strategies
  • Consult with families and staff to interpret assessment results and recommend supports
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEP) and behavior intervention plans (BIP) as appropriate
  • Facilitate and participate in IEP and team meetings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Provide direct counseling and mental health services to students per IEPs or identified needs
  • Support school-wide initiatives to foster a safe and supportive learning environment
