Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of elementary students as a part-time School Psychologist in a lively school community near Allegan, MI. This contract position offers an opportunity to apply your expertise while working collaboratively with elementary-aged children, educators, and families to help foster a supportive learning environment.

In this role, you'll utilize your skills as a School Psychologist to assess student needs, contribute to individualized education plans, and promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. You'll play a vital part in identifying barriers to learning and providing the interventions students need to succeed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid school psychology certification in the state of Michigan
  • Previous experience as a School Psychologist, ideally within elementary school settings
  • Strong understanding of educational assessments, behavioral interventions, and evidence-based practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and families
  • Knowledge of special education law and procedures
  • Compassionate, flexible, and collaborative working style

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and interpret results
  • Participate in eligibility determinations and IEP meetings
  • Develop intervention strategies and support plans for academic and behavioral needs
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support students' success
  • Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
