Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving as a School Psychologist and make a meaningful difference for young learners in early childhood programs. This full-time role spans the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning July 6, 2026, and concluding June 11, 2027. The position concentrates on working closely with children from birth to age 5, assigned across schools located in Salem/South Marion County and Yamhill County, within a supportive educational environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid and active Oregon School Psychologist license (OR PSYCH).
- Previous experience working with early childhood populations (birth to 5 years old) highly preferred.
- Proven knowledge of special education laws, assessment practices, and early intervention strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families.
- Excellent communication, report-writing, and organizational abilities.
- Flexible mindset and adaptability to work across multiple school sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for students referred for evaluation, focusing on cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Interpret assessment data and recommend evidence-based interventions tailored for early learners.
- Collaborate with educators and families to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and early intervention programs.
- Consult with staff and parents to provide guidance on behavior management, classroom strategies, and inclusive practices.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to positive educational outcomes for all assigned children.
- Support transitions and continuity of care as children move into kindergarten and primary grades.
