Job Description
A school psychologist opportunity is available within a public school district in Accomac, VA. This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week with an anticipated start date in early September. The role supports students across the entire district, from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, serving an assigned caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for students to identify educational and emotional needs
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective interventions and support plans
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate educational goals
- Utilize indirect hours for administrative duties and attend paid team meetings
- Maintain documentation in compliance with district policies and requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia School Psychologist license is required prior to starting the assignment
- Experience working within a caseload model in a K-12 school setting
- Familiarity with special education processes and procedures, including IEP development
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage schedules and caseloads efficiently while providing high-quality services
