Job Description

A school psychologist opportunity is available within a public school district in Accomac, VA. This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week with an anticipated start date in early September. The role supports students across the entire district, from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, serving an assigned caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for students to identify educational and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective interventions and support plans
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate educational goals
  • Utilize indirect hours for administrative duties and attend paid team meetings
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with district policies and requirements

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia School Psychologist license is required prior to starting the assignment
  • Experience working within a caseload model in a K-12 school setting
  • Familiarity with special education processes and procedures, including IEP development
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage schedules and caseloads efficiently while providing high-quality services
