Your advanced skills as a school RN, including strong clinical judgment and the ability to work comfortably with trach and g-tube care, will be instrumental in supporting a students daily educational and health needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Prior experience in a school setting, particularly with 1:1 student care, is highly desirable
- Demonstrated proficiency in tracheostomy and gastrostomy tube management
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators, therapists, and families
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach with the flexibility to adapt to dynamic school routines
- CPR/BLS certification (current)
What Youll Do:
- Deliver consistent, individualized nursing care throughout the students school day
- Manage medication administration, tracheostomy care, and gastrostomy tube feedings with accuracy
- Monitor the students health status, document observations, and respond promptly to any emergencies
- Collaborate with the educational team to support the students participation in academic and extracurricular activities
- Educate staff and classmates on basic health protocols as needed
- Communicate effectively with the students family and the multidisciplinary care team
