Make a meaningful impact as an onsite Registered Nurse, supporting elementary students and staff for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year. This full-time, contract opportunity follows regular school hours (8:45am-3:45pm) and is perfect for a dedicated RN who thrives in a school-based setting. You'll play a vital role in daily health management and emergency response, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for young learners.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Registered Nurse license (RN)
- Prior experience as a school nurse required
- Solid understanding of diabetes management, G-tube care, and seizure protocols
- Committed to working the full duration of the 26/27 academic year
- Please note: LPNs are not eligible for this position
Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate nursing care to elementary students throughout the school day
- Monitor and manage diabetic care, G-tubes, and seizures within the student population
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to address student health concerns
- Administer medications, first aid, and routine health screenings
- Document health plans and maintain accurate records in accordance with district policies
- Serve as a resource for staff on health-related issues, wellness initiatives, and emergency preparedness
