A part-time pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide dedicated 1:1 care for a 5th-grade student with complex medical needs in an elementary school setting in Pickerington, OH. This opportunity spans the current school year, starting in December and concluding in May 2026, with possible adjustments to the exact start date depending on the schools needs. The role involves traveling with the student on the school bus and delivering skilled nursing care during school hours every Tuesday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including tracheostomy care and suctioning (oral and trach).
- Administer tube feeding, water bolus, and medication via G-tube.
- Monitor and assist with the use of medical devices such as AFO splints for hand and leg, wheelchair, Hoyer lift, and pulse oximeter.
- Provide continence care and maintain overall health and safety of the student throughout the school day.
- Travel with the student to and from school safely, supporting all medical needs during transportation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio is required.
- Demonstrated critical pediatric nursing experience, especially with trach care and suctioning.
- Familiarity with managing G-tube feedings, specialized medical equipment, and mobility aids.
- Ability to work independently in a school environment and provide compassionate, attentive care.
