You will be a vital member of the schools health services team, working with young learners and collaborating with educators to support student well-being. The contract runs from ASAP through December 23, 2026, giving you the opportunity to truly get to know your students and contribute meaningfully over an extended period.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license for the state of New Jersey is required
- Proven pediatric nursing experience is essential
- Previous school nursing experience is highly preferred
- Clear background and health screenings per state and district requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Organized, collaborative, and compassionate approach to student health
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary Health Room Nurse for an elementary school caseload
- Assess and address daily student health needs, including medication administration and first aid
- Maintain accurate health records and handle confidential information with care
- Support health education and safety initiatives in the school community
- Act as a liaison between school staff, families, and healthcare providers
- Respond quickly to health emergencies or incidents during school hours
Position Details:
- Contract assignment, running from start date through December 23, 2026
- 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday (8:30 AM 3:45 PM)
