Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners by providing skilled nursing care in an elementary school environment. This part-time contract role calls for a compassionate RN to join a dedicated health services team, offering coverage three days a weektotaling 21 hours. Flexibility is offered in scheduling your three full days. You'll play a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming health room, supporting students with diverse needs, including those managing diabetes and autism.

Your main responsibility will be to serve as a cornerstone for student well-being, collaborating with school staff and supporting families. Youll step into an environment that values proactive care, clear communication, and a genuine investment in each childs health.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
  • Confidence in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes
  • Strong understanding or experience with students on the autism spectrum
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and respond calmly to emergencies

Your main duties will include:

  • Delivering daily health care to students for a broad range of needs
  • Creating and overseeing care plans for diabetic and autistic students
  • Dispensing medications and providing first aid according to protocol
  • Acting as a liaison between families, school staff, and outside healthcare providers
  • Maintaining accurate health records in compliance with regulations
  • Educating students and staff on wellness and hygiene practices
