Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Prior experience in a school nursing or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies
- Familiarity with health care protocols and medical documentation in a school environment
- Compassionate, approachable, and attentive to the needs of children from diverse backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the general health room and deliver routine and emergency care to students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Manage medication administration following established guidelines and physician orders
- Maintain detailed records on student health, immunizations, and visits, ensuring confidentiality
- Provide assessment and care for minor illnesses and injuries, and coordinate care for chronic conditions
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to support student health and attendance
- Promote healthy habits and disease prevention through staff and classroom education
- Serve as a resource in health-related matters, including early identification of student health concerns
