Ideal qualifications and experience include:
- Hold a valid RN license and Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential
- Prior experience in a school-based, pediatric, or public health setting preferred
- Exceptional assessment and communication skills
- Ability to provide emergency care and develop health plans for students
- Comfort working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Adaptable, compassionate, and detail-oriented approach
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to students across various grade levels
- Conduct health screenings and manage immunization records
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans in partnership with families and educators
- Respond to medical emergencies and administer first aid as required
- Maintain confidential health documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Educate students and staff on relevant health topics, wellness, and safety
- Support positive health outcomes and a safe school environment
